S.T.A.R.S. Club

Members of S.T.A.R.S. Club are chosen through a lottery in each homeroom in grades 3-5. These students perform several service projects throughout the year to help families, both in the Salford Hills community and in the community at large.

A favorite service project is to plan our "School Spirit Days". Money collected from students who participate in Spirit Days goes toward local charities such as Keystone Opportunity Center, a food bank that services SASD. Students also take responsibility for collecting recycling from each classroom every week. Holiday events include collecting canned and dry goods for Turkey Boxes at Thanksgiving and coins for Jingle Boxes throughout December. S.T.A.R.S. Club members also contribute ideas for service projects based on their own connections in our broader community. Some of these projects have benefited a daycare in a church that experienced a fire and an animal rehabilitation center.

The members of S.T.A.R.S. Club truly shine for all their dedication to local community members!
